Community Guidelines

Brewin is a community built around a shared love of coffee. We want this to be a welcoming, inspiring, and fun place for everyone — from first-time French press users to seasoned baristas. These guidelines exist to keep it that way.

By using Brewin, you agree to follow these guidelines. Violating them may result in content removal, account suspension, or permanent account termination.

Be Respectful

Coffee is personal — everyone's taste is different, and that's what makes this community interesting. Whether someone loves a dark roast from the grocery store or a light roast single-origin, they belong here.

• Treat other members the way you'd want to be treated.
• Disagree constructively. “I prefer a finer grind for this method” is great. Personal attacks are not.
• Don't mock or belittle someone's taste, equipment, or experience level.
• Keep it encouraging. A bad brew is a learning opportunity, not a reason to pile on.

Keep It About Coffee

Brewin is a coffee community. The feed works best when posts are about coffee — your brews, your beans, your setup, your discoveries, your experiments.

• Post photos and notes about your brews, your favorite coffees, or your coffee journey.
• Off-topic posts (unrelated memes, political content, self-promotion for non-coffee products) may be removed.
• If it wouldn't feel at home in a café conversation, it probably doesn't belong on Brewin.

No Harmful Content

The following content is never allowed on Brewin:

• Hate speech or discrimination: Content that attacks, demeans, or incites hatred against individuals or groups based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or any other protected characteristic.
• Harassment and bullying: Threats, intimidation, targeted insults, or persistent unwanted contact directed at another user.
• Sexually explicit content: Nudity, sexual content, or suggestive imagery. This is a coffee app.
• Violence and graphic content: Content that depicts or promotes violence, self-harm, or graphic imagery.
• Illegal activity: Content that promotes, encourages, or facilitates illegal activities.
• Misinformation: Deliberately false or misleading content, including fake reviews or deceptive ratings.
• Private information: Sharing someone else's personal or private information without their consent.

Respect Others' Content

• Only post photos that you took yourself or have permission to use.
• Don't repost someone else's brew photos and claim them as your own.
• Don't post close-up photos of other people without their permission.
• If you share someone else's recipe or method, give credit.

No Spam or Self-Promotion

• Don't use Brewin to advertise products, services, or businesses unrelated to your genuine coffee experience.
• Don't post repetitive content, chain messages, or spam.
• Sharing a coffee you genuinely enjoy from a roaster you love is fine. Posting promotional ads disguised as brew posts is not.
• Don't create fake accounts, use bots, or manipulate ratings.

Be Honest in Your Reviews and Ratings

• Rate coffees based on your genuine experience.
• Don't artificially inflate or deflate ratings for any coffee.
• Don't accept compensation in exchange for ratings or reviews without disclosure.

Use Report and Block Tools

If you see content that violates these guidelines or encounter a user who is behaving inappropriately, please use the tools we provide:

• Report: Tap the report button on any post or profile to flag it for our review. We take reports seriously and will act within 24 hours.
• Block: If someone is bothering you, you can block them from their profile. This will hide their content from your feed and prevent them from seeing yours.

What Happens If You Break the Rules

We want to keep Brewin a positive space. When we find violations, we may take the following actions depending on the severity:

• Content removal: We'll remove the offending post or content.
• Warning: For minor or first-time violations, we may issue a warning.
• Temporary suspension: Repeated violations may result in a temporary suspension of your account.
• Permanent ban: Severe or repeated violations will result in permanent removal from Brewin.
